Within Ōta, one of the 23 special wards, Haneda Airport offers domestic and international flights. Outside Tokyo, Narita International Airport, in Chiba Prefecture, is the major gateway for international travelers to Japan and Japan flag carrier Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines all have a hub at this airport as you can see in Tokyo airports map.
Various islands governed by Tokyo have their own airports. Hachijōjima (Hachijojima Airport), Miyakejima (Miyakejima Airport), and Izu Ōshima (Oshima Airport) have services to Tokyo International and other airports as its shown in Tokyo airports map. Driving in from Narita will take at least an hour and a half, though potentially much more if you hit traffic as you start to approach Tokyo city. Haneda is much closer by comparison, located on a peninsula just south of the city center.
Tokyo have two major airports, Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) as its mentioned in Tokyo airports map. Both of Tokyo airports serve long-haul flights to destinations around the world. While Narita has typically been thought of as the more international of the two, Haneda is gaining ground with dozens of new flights launching to the US next year.

Tokyo International Airport (東京国際空港 Tōkyō Kokusai Kūkō?), commonly known as Haneda Airport (羽田空港 Haneda Kūkō?) (IATA: HND, ICAO: RJTT), is one of the two primary airports that serve the Greater Tokyo Area in Japan. Tokyo international airport is located in Ōta, Tokyo, 14 km (8.7 mi) south of Tokyo Station as you can see in Tokyo international airport map. Haneda handles almost all domestic flights to and from Tokyo, while Narita International Airport handles the vast majority of international flights.
Haneda Airport has three terminals as its shown in Tokyo international airport map. The main terminals, 1 and 2, are connected by an underground walkway; a free shuttle bus runs between the main terminals and the smaller International Terminal every five minutes. Tokyo international airport is open 24 hours. The two main (domestic) passenger terminals are only open from 5 AM to 11:30 PM. The terminals may be extended to 24-hour operation due to StarFlyer late-night and early-morning service between Haneda and Kitakyushu, which began in March 2006. (The International Terminal is open 24 hours.)
All three terminals of Tokyo international airport are managed by Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. (日本空港ビルディング株式会社 Nippon Kūkō Birudingu Kabushikigaisha?), a private company (see Tokyo international airport map). The rest of Tokyo international airport is managed by the government. It has 46 jetways altogether. In 1939, Tokyo international airport first runway was extended to 800 m and a second 800-m runway was completed.
